I was 11, the same age as Harry when he first went to Hogwarts.

When the series began in my youth, whether I would be into it was not really a question. It would make her richer than most people in the world. Joanne Rowling wrote Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, famously, as a single mother struggling in poverty. Yet, simply having another option to be able to play Hogwarts Legacy, and especially the handheld versatility of the Switch, is a positive move for everyone in the gaming community and Harry Potter fans.Hogwarts Legacy is not so much a video game as it is an attempt to resolve what was a particular writer’s very specific point of view into a “universe” that will please everyone, regardless of whether that ever coheres into something that makes sense.

Sadly, it is very likely that the quality of the game will not be the same as many have come to expect from seeing the original version for the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X. The good news for Nintendo Switch owners is that Hogwarts Legacy is still in development and expected to release on the Switch just in time for the holiday season. If players are required to download the game or use a physical cartridge, the size of the game could quickly fill up any space they have on their systems. The massive size of Hogwarts Legacy has led some to believe that it may not be able to run on the Switch without being a cloud version, but this has not yet been either verified or disputed by Nintendo or Avalanche Software. The Nintendo Switch has released several games as Cloud versions where players access the game online rather than having a physical cartridge or download on their system.
